State Representative Jim Grego of Wilburton Receives Cattlemen’s Appreciation Award

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Jim Grego, R-Wilburton, recently was recognized with a Legislative Appreciation Award by the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.

Michael Kelsey, executive director for the association said the honor was given for Grego’s continued commitment to Oklahoma agriculture and the state beef cattle industry.

Grego, along with his wife, Sandy, own and operate Grego Farms, a cow/calf and a custom hay operation in rural Latimer County. Some of their land has been operated by family members for 100 years as Grego’s grandfather settled near Hartshorne in the early 1930s.

“It is such an honor to be recognized by a group of my peers for doing something I love and for helping protect this way of life for others in our great state of Oklahoma,” Grego said.

“I will continue to be a strong advocate for our Oklahoma farmers and ranchers in the state Legislature.”

The award was given during the association’s 70th annual convention and trade show held July 22-23 at the Embassy Suites & Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
