Sophie Schwechheimer joins Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma to support mission-driven services

Oklahoma City – Nonprofit Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma recently announced the hiring of Sophie Schwechheimer as Director of Marketing and Communications.

“We’re thrilled to have Sophie join us,” Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma President and CEO Jim Priest said.

“She brings both traditional and digital media experience and will be vital in supporting our mission to help people overcome challenges to employment. She’s very excited to join us.”

Born in Germany, Schwechheimer speaks several languages and began her career in media relations for the Global Fortune 500 company SAP before moving to the United States.

She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Public Relations and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Prior to Goodwill, Schwechheimer served at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, Paycom and the national PR firm, 5W Public Relations.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of such an important cause and organization,” Schwechheimer said.

“Just like a good thrift find, this opportunity presented itself unexpectedly but immediately felt right. As a thrifter myself, I can’t wait to start using my skills to come up with big plans to shine a light on Goodwill’s mission of helping people overcome challenges to employment.”
