Facebook Live: OK House Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/oklahoma.house.of.reps

WHY: According to a press release from Reps. Lane and Humphrey, and legal counsel:

The long-anticipated results of this rigorous, independent investigation of Richard Glossip’s conviction, conducted by respected national litigation firm Reed Smith at the request of 35 Oklahoma state lawmakers, including 29 Republicans, are widely expected to include new evidence and raise questions about Glossip’s death row conviction.

Richard Glossip has been on Oklahoma’s death row for 24 years, even though everyone agrees another man, Justin Sneed, actually committed the murder. Glossip’s conviction was based primarily on statements made by Justin Sneed. But the Reed Smith investigation is expected to find that the murder was the result of a botched robbery carried out by Sneed for drug money. Glossip had nothing to do with it. Now, while Sneed serves a life sentence, Oklahoma Attorney General John M. O’Connor has indicated Glossip’s execution will be scheduled for September.
