Oklahoma Senate Interim Studies begin with Pro Temp Greg Treat’s approval

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat announced last month his approval of dozens of interim study requests.

In total, members submitted 60 requests, of which 41 were approved and have been assigned to the Senate standing committees with jurisdiction over those policy areas.

“There are so many important issues that require more in-depth consideration and research than we have time for during the regular session, and interim studies provide that opportunity,” Treat, an Oklahoma City Republican, said.

“There are going to be some great studies conducted in the coming months, and I commend members for their dedication and willingness to take the time to further analyze these topics by working with the public, our state agencies and experts in the field.”

A complete list of interim studies is available on the Senate website (www.oksenate.gov).

Members will work with the committee chairs to request a hearing and schedule the studies, which must be completed by Friday, Nov. 4.

Meeting notices will be sent by Senate committees once they are scheduled and will be available online. Hearings will be live-streamed on the Senate website as well.
