Oklahoma March for Life slated for Saturday, January 22

Oklahoma City – Advocates of pro-life policies in opposition to abortion are holding the annual Oklahoma March for Life this Saturday.

In a statement sent to CapitolBeatOK.com and other news organizations, Tony Lauinger of Oklahomans for Life said:

“Forty-nine years ago this coming Saturday, on January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court handed down the most atrocious decision in the Court’s history. Roe v. Wade, and its companion case, Doe v. Bolton, condemned to death the unborn children of America. The death toll from these despicable rulings is now more than 63 million babies killed in the tranquil sanctuary of their mother’s womb.”

The press release concerning the event continued:

“A special commemoration will be held this Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the State Capitol, 2300 North Lincoln Blvd., in Oklahoma City. Speakers will include U.S. James Lankford, Catholic Bishop David Konderla of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma, and Dr. Todd Fisher, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. A two-mile March For Life will follow.”
