Oklahoma House Interim Studies commence after Speaker McCall approves all 82 requests

OKLAHOMA CITY – All interim study requests submitted by members were approved in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the leader of the Legislature’s lower chamber announced in July.

The 82 study requests approved by House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, include eight proposed joint studies with senators.

Some studies of similar topics may be combined at a later date.

House committees are set to schedule studies between August and November.

Interim studies are held by legislative committees out of session to take closer looks at issues, potentially for future legislation.

The studies also may review the effectiveness of previous legislation.

House studies will be live streamed on the House website. Handouts, presentations and documents utilized at hearings will be available online, as well.
