NEWS UPDATE: COMMON CORE REPEAL CLEARS OKLAHOMA HOUSE

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma House of Representatives has passed the conference committee report (CCR) for House Bill 3399, enacting repeal of the controversial Common Core curriculum.

The measure, sponsored by Speaker of the House Jeff Hickman, R-Fairview, prevailed 71-18 on fourth and final reading. The emergency clause then passed on a vote of 68-19.

The proposal is returning to the Senate on Friday afternoon (May 23). It must clear the upper chamber in order to go to the desk of Gov. Mary Fallin for her signature.
