CapitolBeatOK Editor appears on ‘The Verdict’

Patrick B. McGuigan, editor of CapitolBeatOK, will appear as the featured guest on an upcoming edition of “The Verdict.” McGuigan will appear on the program during the week of March 14.

McGuigan will discuss online journalism, the state of political news coverage and the state’s newest online news site, www.www.capitolbeatok.com, and other issues. Part of the discussion includes the applicability of McGuigan’s long experience in print and broadcast journalism to this new “web-based” news venture, which McGuigan operates independently under contract with the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs. 

Interviewing McGuigan will be Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and attorney Kent Meyers, co-hosts of “The Verdict.” McGuigan has appeared frequently on the long-running program, which has now aired more than 400 times.

McGuigan is a contributing correspondent for Griffin Communications, providing detailed analysis of coverage from the state Capitol for News9 in Oklahoma City and Newson6 in Tulsa. He is senior editor at The City Sentinel newspaper and capitol editor for Tulsa Today.

“The Verdict” appears on the Cox cable system, Cox 7 in the Oklahoma City area and Cox 3 in Tulsa. The discussion with McGuigan will air Sunday, March 14 at 9 a.m, Monday, March 15 at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 16 at 10 a.m., and Wednesday, March 17 at 10 a.m.
