By the numbers, again: Republicans continue to gain on Democrats in voter registration numbers
Published: November 5th, 2012
Oklahoma’s official voter registration roll reached 2,114,713 on November 1, an increase of nearly 100,000 over voter registration at this time in 2008.
Registration surged about 47,000 in the month of October alone. The last day to register to vote in the November election was October 12.
Republicans have continued to gain ground on Democrats this year. While Democrats still enjoy a plurality advantage, with 45.5 percent of all voters, Republicans now constitute 44 percent of registered voters, with Independents holding 11 percent of the total.
