Taiwan thanks U.S. Oklahoma for help

Dear Editor:

Over the past year, Taiwan has made great strides in rebuilding its infrastructure after Typhoon Morakot devastated the island in August 2009; however, the success of reconstruction efforts would not have been possible without the aid of the United States. The people of Taiwan would like to take this opportunity to extend our eternal gratitude for all of the assistance the United States provided last year, from supplying equipment, emergency shelters, personnel and food; it is because of your immediate help that our long term reconstruction goals have been so successful.
