COPY: Letter sent to Oklahoma editors concerning the Julius Jones commutation recommendation

Dear Editor,

Forty years ago, the Sisters of Benedict taught me that Pro-Life includes opposition to capital punishment.

The Julius Jones case has brought world attention to Oklahoma.

Millions agree that Julius is either innocent or wrongfully convicted.

Governor Kevin Stitt’s Pardon & Parole Board voted 3-1 and recommended commutation of Julius’ sentence from death to life-in-prison.

As a Pro-Life advocate, Governor Stitt has the authority to follow the recommendation of the Pardon & Parole Board. He should do it.

Sincerely,

Nathaniel Batchelder
