Fallin announces more appointments
Governor Mary Fallin on Tuesday (October 18) announced appointments to various boards, commissions and task forces. A listing of the entities and individuals, and some biographical information, is given below.
Brenda Jones Barwick of Edmond is the president of Jones Public Relations, Inc. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and worked in the administration of President Ronald Reagan. Barwick is replacing Joyce Martin and will serve a five-year term. Senate confirmation is not required for her appointment.
Karla McCasland Wallace of Oklahoma City is self-employed and manages oil and gas investments. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from the University of Central Oklahoma. Wallace is replacing Risha Grant and will serve a five-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is not required for her appointment.
Barry Beauchamp of Lawton is the superintendant of Lawton Public Schools. He earned his bachelor’s of science from Cameron University, a master’s degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and his superintendent certification from the University of Oklahoma. He is filling a new position and serves as a public school administrator from a school district with an average daily membership over 10,000. The task force will sunset in November. Senate confirmation is not required for Beauchamp’s appointment.
Bruce Brown of Oklahoma City is manager of Regional Land Services, a tree clearing and harvesting company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Trinity College in Hartford, Ct. Brown is replacing Perry McDonald. He will serve a three-year term. Confirmation from the Senate is not required for his appointment.
Judge Louis Buchanan of Bethany is an attorney in private practice. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Oklahoma. Buchannan is replacing Floyd Atha and will serve a three-year term as a lay member for the commission. Senate confirmation is not required for his appointment.
Lee Caesar of Oklahoma City owns Caesar Appraisal Service and is a broker at C&C Real Estate. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He currently serves as the vice chair for the Oklahoma Real Estate Appraiser Board. Caesar has been reappointed for a five-year term. Senate confirmation is not required for his appointment.
Joe Steil of Noble owns Joe’s Clubs, a custom golf club manufacturing company. He served in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a major. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona and graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Steil is replacing William Logan and will serve a three-year term. Senate confirmation is not required for Steil’s appointment.
Steven Ganzkow of Tulsa is senior vice president of American Residential Group, a real estate management and investment company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa. Ganzkow has been reappointed and will serve a five-year term. Senate confirmation is not required for this appointment.
Sen. Kathleen L. Wilcoxson of Oklahoma City teaches at Western Heights Public School. She previously served in the Oklahoma State Senate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and both a master’s degree in special education and a doctorate in education from Oklahoma State University. Wilcoxson is replacing Tony Hutchinson and will serve a term at the pleasure of the governor. Senate confirmation is not required for her appointment.
Bill Frankfurt of Edmond is the chief executive officer of Frankfurt Short Bruza, an architectural, engineering and planning firm. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. Frankfurt is replacing John Frick and represents the manufacturing and professional fields not specified. Frankfurt will serve a four-year term. Senate confirmation is not required for his appointment.
