Advocates of State Question 744 listed

The Yes on 744 campaign today (Thursday, September 9) released a list of supporting organizations that will work to gain voter support for  State Question 744 this November.

“We are pleased that so many different groups from around the state of Oklahoma have decided to support this important initiative to help Oklahoma’s kids and schools,” said Michael Kolenc, campaign manager for the YES on 744 coalition. “This coalition represents Oklahomans from all walks of life who believe Oklahoma’s children deserve good, high quality schools. ”

The support list released today includes: Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, Cooperative Council of Oklahoma School Administrators, Interfaith Alliance of Oklahoma, Jewish Federation of Greater Oklahoma City, League of United Latin American Citizens (Oklahoma City Council), Muskogee (Creek) Nation, Oklahoma Art Education Association, Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, Oklahoma Association of Elementary School Principals, Oklahoma Association of School Administrators, Oklahoma Association of Secondary School Principals, Oklahoma Council for Indian Education and Oklahoma Council for the Social Studies.

Other supporters included the Oklahoma Education Association, the state’s largest labor union and the group that led the initiative petition drive to gain ballot status for the proposal, as well as Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Parent Teachers Association, Oklahoma State School Boards Association, Oklahoma Teachers of the Year, Organization of Rural Oklahoma Schools, Sac & Fox Nation, Tulsa Area Parents Legislative Action Committee and United Suburban Schools Association.
